Whether you’ve never used Captivate before, or you’ve used it for a long time, come learn how to create eLearning in a new way. Learn to use Captivate’s greatest strengths, and also look at other tools you may find very helpful in making your eLearning great!

This is no lecture. You will be working hands on the whole time. If you’re new to Captivate, you won’t get lost. If you’re intermediate or advanced, you won’t be bored as you will be given more challenging exercises to work on in class. If you’re a real whiz but you’re a Captivate beginner, start with the easy exercises, and if you still have time left, go to intermediate or even advanced. Every exercise will include a completed solution, so you can continue to learn on your own and compare your work against the completed example.
Joe will remain available to you to help you with your exercises throughout the conference and…gasp!…even after the workshop is over. Nowhere else will you get such a bang for your buck.

Why? So often Captivate users, even those who’ve used Captivate for years, are surprised to discover features that they hadn’t known were there all along, features they wish they had known earlier.
Why? Note the word optimally which means you don’t always throw every media into every eLearning lesson, even if the media is readily available. Check out the reasons why and why not to use media.
Why? The best way people learn is by doing, which means you want to make sure your learners are making decisions based on real-life examples they will confront on the job, with proper guidance when they make a mistake. We learn from making mistakes and seeing how to fix problems.
Why? Knowing these tips will allow you to work faster and more easily. Use Captivate’s new Object States in ways that may not be obvious. Use its very cool Import/Export options. And SVG! Don’t forget SVG!
Why? How will you know if your eLearning is effective if it isn’t measured? Not only should the learner be able to see an individual progress report, you should know how everyone is doing on average. We won’t discuss Learning Management Systems or Learning Record Stores, but we will discuss making sure your Captivate file is set up to communicate correctly.
This almost seems like a no-brainer, but if you haven’t already been told that your learning must work on tablets and phones, you probably will be soon. Regardless, everything you will learn will work just fine on desktops and on devices.
